American B&Bs and Belarusian Farmsteads: ways to cooperate
Belarusian Association of Agro- and Ecotourism “Country Escape” started cooperation with American Professional Association of Innkeepers International (PAII). The cooperation started with a visit of the Chairman of the Board of “Country Escape” to the States where she has visited one prominent American B&B – Stonewall Jackson Inn in Virginia – and got acquainted with its owner – Doctor Wayne Engel. Mr.Engel eagerly shared his experience and afterwards came to Belarus as a Speaker and representative of PAII to deliver lectures to members of our Association. American experience raised obvious interest among our members. The next logical step was cooperation establishment between two our organizations. Recently Valeria Klitsounova, the Chairman of the Board of “Country Escape” Association, has visited the States in terms of Bill Maynes Fellowship Program (the honorable award provided by the Eurasia Foundation). During the visit she met with Jay Karen, the head of PAII, to discuss the perspectives for cooperation between the organizations. The meeting resulted in development of several directions for cooperation. We hope that cooperation between PAII and “Country Escape” will continue and be fruitful for both sides.
