We wish you a Happy New Year and Merry Christmas! This year was important for us. It was the year of our 10th anniversary. We summed up the results and started planning the future. A lot has been done, but it’s still much to be done. We wish all ‘pioneers’ of rural tourism and all the rest who support our movement lots of joy, health and good luck in the coming year!

AGORA 2.0 project is in the homestretch!
This year Belarusian Association “Country Escape” is finalizing AGORA 2.0 project “Heritage tourism for increased BSR identity”, supported by the Baltic Sea Region Program 2007-2013. The project lasted two years, a lot has been done. more info
“Mermaid’s week” ended with a beautiful rite in Luban district
On the 19th of June Luban district ended celebrating “mermaid’s week” – a pre-Christian holiday connected with harvesting. According to the rite each evening during the week women holding hands walk along village streets with mermaids’ songs. The week ends with setting up fires, singing songs, dancing and making other ritual actions. The rite includes preparation of traditional fried eggs prepared on fire. This year the rite was visited by the head of tourism department of the Ministry of Sports and Tourism of Belarus Vadim Kamazin together with the representatives of Belarusian Association “Country Escape”.
