The highest point of Belarus land was considered to be Dzerjinskaya Mountain, 345 meters high.  Well, it can’t be compared with such mountains as, for example, the Karpati or the Caucasus but still there can be found about 25-30 representatives of mountain flora, and almost all of them are rare species, included in the Red book of the Republic of Belarus. more info

New project has started in Belarus

Belarusian Association “Country Escape’ has started implementation of a new project – “Community-based tourism for conservation, partnership and development of rural territories”, supported by the US Embassy Small Grants Program. In terms of the project on the 31st of March there was held a training in the village of Motol (Ivanovo district, Brest region) dedicated to the interpretation of intangible cultural heritage and possible ways of its integration into tourism. During training experts shared there experience with local community: Tadeush Novogrodsky dwelled upon traditional cuisine, Tatjana Kuharenok told about intangible heritage, representatives of “Country Escape” Association – Valeria Klitsounova and Natallia Barysenka - developed the idea of uniting heritage and tourism. Experts provided recommendations on preservation, using and promotion of Motol intangible heritage (the rite “Wedding loaf”, wedding baked goods, etc.) and creation of tourist products on its basis. Moreover the participants discussed the dates and preliminary program of Motol culinary festival “Motalskiya prysmaki” that annually attracts thousands of tourists in the village of Motol.
